The rocking action of the spoon and the wobbling action of the minnow makes it irresistible to those large catfish.


When casting the lure, allow it to sink for 5 seconds, then start retrieve. The fish strike many times on the sinking of the lure. Fish this lure as if you were fishing for Bass.


Catfish during the warm months feeds in the same manner as Bass. Evenings, catfish work the banks looking for bait fish. Catfish are not just bottom feeders, as most people think and are under rated as a Game fish.


One you try these and catch your first catfish on an artificial bait, you will change your mind as how big of a fighter these fish are. They strike the bait with great force and become a great challenge on light tackle and a 10 lb. test line.

Other fish will also strike this lure, such as bass and crappie. A 15" crappie was caught on this bait during field testing.




 

 

Have had three days of good catfishing this week---Monday, Friday and Saturday with my Spoon n Minnow

I hooked total of 34 cats
12 Monday
16 Friday
6 Saturday

Two of them were 42" long but only 23 pounds each

All of these were only down about 5 feet and most were laying within 10 feet of the bank. I watched those people slamming their baits out in the middle and catching nothing and after they were done, I set down and caught them along the edges.
Two of the days were perfect conditions, cloudy with a mist of rain, now and them and they were feeding good!!!
On Monday I fished all morning from 9:30 til 1:30 and only two fish, so I quit for a while and then started again at 4:00 and fished up till 6:00 and hooked ten fish in that two hours. It was shady on the lake and they started to feed. One of those were 42"
This was a good example how fast they can get turned on and start feeding. I even had two strikes in the same retrieve.
