Bucktail Spinner Fly


In-Line Musky "Bucktail" spinners are tied on a double set size 3/0 treble hooks which are attached to a size 5 Flutter Willow Leaf Spinner.

Two small 1/5 oz. weights are attached to a stainless steel wire shaft along with a colorful bucktails which is an attractor. These lures are used for catching Pike and Musky and are available in eight colors.

The addition of an in-line spinner in front of a bucktail is a lethal combination that together supply flash, mass, lateral line sensory stimulation and action that inspires a true predatory response. Year in and year out, fisherman buy these lures and report their numerous catches.

In some systems musky suspend in open water and sit off bare rock piles, but overall they're weed-loving beasts. A bed of vegetation, however, is different than a slop-filled shallow bay. As a rule, musky on slops are less aggressive than fish in deeper water, how ever musky use shallow weedy bays as digestion areas?

During overcast, stormy fronts, musky move out to deeper water to feed. As the weather stabilizes and the sun comes out, the well-fed fish slide into the slop to digest their food. Musky are neutral or inactive at this time, but a musky that's finished digesting its meal and starting to feel hungry will feed again.
